Appreciated the place, it was lovely little and worked for me. The location was good and amazing for walking around a sweeping square. The hotel had an excellent bar and a pretty good restaurant.

Very central location, just a short walk away from a French national monument.

Loved my double room with tea/coffee making facilities, comfortable mattress, for instance. The breakfast had a huge variety of selection, the food was great! Location: the hotel was very close to Vercingetorix statue, the center of Chartres, and the shops, bars, restaurants and public transport.

The property is impeccably clean and quirky. All the rooms are well-equipped and beautifully decorated with a superb shower and the staff is very friendly. The breakfasts are great with a lot of options...

Not obvious to find!

The accommodation was nicely decorated with super-friendly staff. The rooms they have were soundproof and new-fashioned with a good breakfast, a superb shower plus new bathroom. The location for Clermont-Ferrand was good, near Clermont town centre.

This hotel is situated in the centre of the town, making it easy to explore. The rooms have all the basic amenities, and I particularly enjoyed the spacious terrace overlooking Place Jaude. The breakfast was good too, with plenty of choices to start the day off right.

Everything was great, couldn't ask for more!

Little bit noisy because hotel is just in front of the square and many people were making noise although it was midnight.

The Hotel de Lyon is an old hotel with a lot of character. My room was fairly large and the bathroom was very spacious. My room was in the front of the hotel and overlooked la Place de Jaude, so I had a wonderful view. The woman working at the front desk was very friendly and had lived in the U.S. for 15 years when she was growing up, so her English was excellent. I had dinner at the restaurant that's part of the hotel. It's a pub-style restaurant and serves hearty fare. I really enjoyed my meal there, even though I was alone. As everywhere in France, the service was excellent. This is something that I don't always find in the U.S. When it comes to customer service in the hotels and stores, the French are excellent! I speak French, which made my experience all the more enjoyable.

My one complaint was the heating in my room. It was very cold and windy when I was in Clermont-Ferrand at the end of October, and my room wasn't warm enough. It was heated by hot air that came out of what looked like a split unit air conditioner mounted on the wall. If it had been radiator heat, it would have been much better. While I was downstairs at the main desk talking to the receptionist, another guest complained about being cold in his room. She told him that she could control each room by a device that she had behind the desk. I've never seen anything quite like this before. It seems that you have to ask to have the heat turned on in your room in these French hotels. Another thing that I didn't like was finding the hallway leading to my room completely dark all the time. You have to find the switch on the wall and turn the light on yourself, which is a timed light and will only stay on for a few minutes. The French are big on saving energy!

The rooms are modern and soundproof with a private safe, central heating, and an electronic key card. The beds are very comfy and the staff is welcoming. It has great location to see a sweeping square. A huge variety of bars and restaurants you can select.

The location of this hotel is fantastic, overlooking a beautiful square and right in the middle of town. It was perfect for exploring the town and seeing the cathedral. The rooms are bright, clean, and well-maintained, providing a delightful stay. Additionally, the breakfast offered a very generous spread with a well-stocked service bar.

That the room was located on a spiral type staircase, which could be a bit challenging for guests with mobility issues.

It was very friendly with a quirky layout that made the rooms feel very private.

the breakfasts where great. location: the hotel was just off the bar/restaurant, the plaza and the tram stop in the centre of town. the stay was thoroughly enjoyable and i would return there.

The value for money was great, the room was clean and comfortable with a lovely balcony overlooking the square. The location was perfect, right in the center with easy access to shopping, cafes, and the cathedral. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, making me feel well taken care of.

The breakfast experience could have been better if it was included in the room rate.
